POWER USE
NOTE: TLV is a redemption game and I aim to have Elias ultimately working towards/put in situations where he can inch towards being a decent human being. But he will initially and for some time be very much self-motivated and work towards regaining his previous powers and control in this situation.
Elias, as an inmate, is heavily limited in his abilities. While he is able to use some of his power, a lot of what he'll lean into early on is trying to learn information about anyone he can, especially secrets or things he can use to (one day) leverage others.
His primary aim in all he does is to gain power and control. To that end, he will try to discover information to blackmail, leverage, or manipulate other characters and NPCs. He will make arrangements with people, allowing himself to seemingly be taken advantage of, work with others to build obligations to him, so that if necessary he will have people he can use/call on.
Elias also will encourage people towards their darker impulses when it comes to seeking knowledge/experiences. While his patron may not exist in this world, he's been doing this for so long it's second nature. Also he's always curious to see what will happen.
All this said, Elias is incredibly arrogant and prone to overlooking people he does not think are important. This means not taking seriously a threat which might exist, not bothering to see if someone has bad intentions towards him, etc.
I also anticipate that he will have very limited success in his aims, simply because he doesn't have all his usual powers available to him and (as an inmate) people are rightly going to be suspicious of him! But he'll make the effort all the same.

POWERS
Limited Omniscience/Knowing: in canon Elias has the ability to see and know anything he wishes, with various levels effort and attention. Currently this power is accessible only to Elias if he has the explicit consent of the person in question. He must ask directly what he wants and they must consent specifically. Outside of the permission granted he will have no ability to read minds/see/know what is going on anywhere on the ship. This power will always be dependent on OOC consent as well, and can be revoked/not work at any time.
Memory Insertion: Elias can put knowledge into another person's mind, both simple facts as well as awareness of experiences. This must happen in person and he must believe this information to be true. While on the Barge, Elias can share knowledge and experiences only with sustained effort. This exhausts him for a period of time afterward.
Limited Technology manipulation — Elias can manipulate technological eyes (cameras). He cannot effect any of the ship's sensors/cameras/etc (and will never be able to). On board, he is able to manipulate only non-barge devices (not communicators), and only if he can handle the device directly for an extended period of time.
Patron: The source of his powers is one of fourteen entities from his world that feeds on fear. It is known as The Eye, Beholding, The Ceaseless Watcher, It Knows You. It is the manifestation of the fear of being watched, exposed, followed, of having secrets known, but also the drive to know and understand, even if your discoveries might destroy you.

Please feel free to answer only the questions you're interested in! Also feel free to DM me or find me on
sprakles.
Would you like to opt-out of all Elias' fear-based talk/machinations/etc? Elias deliberately pushes people towards suffering and will on occasion question people about things they might find traumatic. I don't plan on having anything serious come up out of the blue, but please let me know if there are any topics which are a hard no for you, or whether you'd like to avoid all of this or not have him tag your characters at all.
Are you interested in more involved plots with Elias?: Are secrets you're interested in him finding out and trying to use against your character, would you like CR with him attempting to push your characters into their darker impulses? Would your character ever get talked into letting him look through their eyes or through their mind? Would your character be actively suspicious of him and be attempting to keep an eye on him? I'm open to all kinds of plotting and CR, and am more than keen to chat about it here, on plurk, or through DMs (I have Discord but I'm never on).
